Hi there! I’m an Audio Describer.
I deconstruct what’s visual and reconstruct it with words using concise, vivid language to describe arts-related experiences for people who are blind or low vision. I describe live arts experiences, like plays, musicals, dance performances, narrating the actions and the movements that are significant to the story. I describe visual art at museums, galleries, flower shows and horticulture sites to provide a verbal description of the essential visual elements. I also record description for films, shorts, documentaries, gardens and more,

Lead with empathy
AD must be informed by the individuals who use it — “Nothing about us without us.” My practice has been informed and evolved from feedback that has generously been provided by the people I have the privilege to describe for

Objective audio description enables the listener to interpret the work in a way that is meaningful to their own unique, individual experience. It brings listeners into the art, acting as a bridge from the visual medium to connect to the individual.
Provide meaningful accessibility services
Meaningful accessibility is more than checking a box. It is providing high-quality AD at every performance, at a minimum. It is creating and developing more innovative and inclusive services to provide a robust accessible experience.
